The JCOC has a three-fold mission:

1. To love God -- It is our mission to love God
and obey the commands of God, loving and
serving him with all our heart, mind, soul, and
strength. (Mark 12:30, 1 John 5:3)

Practically, this includes submitting
ourselves to the word of God as found in
the Bible. Our doctrines are taken from
scripture, and we are always willing to
re-examine practices by comparing them
with scripture. (John 14:21, Acts 17:11)

The Goal: To know Christ and have a
personal relationship with God the Father,
to be made righteous through faith, and
ultimately to be with Him in heaven.
(Philippians. 3:7-11, 1 John 5:1)

"Dear friends, let us
love one another, for
love comes from God.
Everyone who loves
has been born of God
and knows God...
This is love: not that
we loved God, but
that he loved us and
sent his Son as an
atoning sacrifice for
our sins. Dear friends,
since God so loved
us, we also ought to
love one another. No
one has ever seen
God; but if we love
one another, God
lives in us and his
love is made
complete in us."
(1 John 4:7-12)

2. To love our Neighbors -- As followers of
Christ, is our duty to love and forgive our
neighbors, our enemies, and anyone who
hates us, is hostile toward us, injures us, or
opposes our interests. We are called to give
our lives for them, and be peacemakers in a
world at war. (Matthew 5:9, Matthew 5:44,
1 John 3:16)

Practically, this means that racism or
hatred toward any person or group is not
tolerated in our fellowship. (James 2:8-10,
1 John 4:20-21)

The Goal: To be sons of God, knowing
God and helping others to know God
through us. (Matthew 5:44-45, 1 John

3. To have a Ministry of Reconciliation --
We are entrusted to be ambassadors of
reconciliation.(2 Corinthians 5:17-20)
The Goal: To bringing men to a
reconciled relationship with God.
(Romans 5:10-11)
